- The milling process of rice consists of various subprocesses like removal of husk , polishing of rice etc. During these processes the rice kernels experience a lot of stress and that results in breakage of some rice kernels.
- In order to ensure that our regular rice is free from any broken rice the broken particles are separated from the rice using a mechanical device called grader.
- As the name suggests the length of the broken particles range from half length to full length of the rice kernel.
- Graders are used in the alcohol industry and as a cattle feed.
